1986 Porsche 911 Safari

Imagine taking an old, dusty car and turning it into something amazing—this is exactly what Porsche Beaverton did with a 1986 Porsche 911! They entered this special car into the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge, a big event where people show off restored Porsches at the famous Rennsport Reunion.

1986 Porsche 911 Safari

This 1986 Porsche 911 started out with 124,000 miles on the clock, which is quite a lot for a car. But instead of letting it sit and gather dust, Porsche Beaverton gave it a makeover! They stripped it down, painted it in a shiny black color, and added some cool features, like a whale tail spoiler (which is a big, sporty rear wing), a custom front bumper, and even a wooden roof rack that looks like something you’d see on an adventure car.

Inside, they added a fun touch with black-and-white houndstooth fabric on the seats, and a red tachometer (that’s the gauge that shows how fast the engine is spinning). It even has a modern Porsche sound system called Porsche Classic Communication Management, so the car is ready for a road trip with great tunes.

The heart of the car, its engine, was also rebuilt. The 3.2-liter flat-six engine is now in tip-top shape, and it works with a special 5-speed manual transmission that gives the driver full control.

Now, this cool 911 Safari is up for auction on Bring a Trailer, and there are only three days left to bid! Whoever wins the auction will get to drive away in a unique, sporty Porsche that’s ready for adventure, just like the original Safari 911s that Porsche made for off-road driving in the past.

It’s a great example of how classic cars can get a fresh start, looking awesome and running smoothly for many more years to come!
