The Kinetic Luna is a 50 cc single-cylinder bike which was introduced by Kinetic Engineering in India in 1972, this bike is one of the most iconic two-wheelers in the Indian market. This bike continues to be produced and marketed in India. Kinetic Luna bought lakhs of Indian on the road. The first kinetic Luna bike model was the licenced copy of the Piaggio Ciao moped.

The Kinetic Luna captured many hearts when it was launched. The Kinetic Luna was one of the most appealing bikes of its generation. The bike had a very slim yet rugged body design like the Hero Puch moped. The buyers also got exciting paint schemes and graphics to choose from. The bike's chrome finish mudguards spoke wheels. The headlamp of the bike was rectangular in shape which gave it a very unique look. The bike was well equipped with a 59.57cc single-cylinder engine and an automatic gearbox . The compression ratio of the bike's engine was 8.8:1. The bike also used a wire mesh air cleaner. The weight of the engine was 12.5 kg. 

The Kinetic Luna also had a variant that was offered with a 49.8cc engine.

This bike used telescopic front forks and dual hydraulic rear shock absorbers. The braking duties of the Kinetic Luna were taken care of by drum brakes at both the front and rear wheel. The bike came with a very comfortable seat and it also had a provision to carry luggage at the rear as well as between the seat and handle.

The Kinetic Luna had a rectangular -shaped halogen headlamp and tail lamps. The bike used to run on 2.5″ wide tyres .The bike was well equipped with spoke wheel rims, it also had a wheelbase of 1130mm which ioffered a ground clearance of 120mm.
